Community Support

Otago Youth Wellness was borne out of the community and the support of the community continues to be crucial to ensuring we are able to help meet the needs of the young people we work with.

Grants from the Pubic Trustees and Otago Community Trust have helped us replace our van, used for getting tamariki to school and also adventures with groups of rangatahi.

William Sheriff Trust have given us funding for a hybrid car – which will arrive in July (supply chain issues have disrupted).

Rotary Club of Dunedin South provided a scholarship for one of our young people to attend Outward Bound.  It was a life-transforming experience and one that will continue to benefit him for years to come.

The Catalytic Foundation has contributed to our Family Therapy services, provided free to our whanau.

We have had support from the Mercy Mission for Covid support in 2022; and donations through our Givealittle page also contribute to the work we do. The Pigs Back Yard ultra marathon selected us as their charity and close to $2,500 was raised.

Mitre10 chose to help us with some new bench space and cupboards in our activity space.  Used mainly for cooking – and teaching young people to cook – the space has also received a new oven from Mitre10.  Delicious creations are emerging – even while we are working with the restrictions of Covid.
